An Animal Lover (Response to the Kendall Jones story)

I have watched as social media has blown this story all out of proportion. First of all to all those people who do not understand "Animal Lovers" let me explain this to you, we are not all the same, some of us really do have a brain. I understand hunting for the purpose of food, or to keep the population of a certain species down, ok I totally get that. People have to eat and if you hunt for the purpose of food that is exactly what God intended. However, I have never nor will I ever agree with sport hunting ( those who hunt because they love to kill or to hang their wonderful catch on a wall some where). Taking some things life, any thing that breathes, because you think it's cool to watch the life leave their body, that's not cool, nor is it of God.

As for Kendall Jones, if she is killing for the purpose of feeding local villages, Kudos to her! I think it's awesome. Likewise if she is tagging them or putting tracking devices on them for research purposes again Kudos to her! Again, what I don't agree with is someone who kills any animal for the sole purpose of using their fur or tusk or whatever and leaving the meat to rot. As for seeing the pictures of dead animals on facebook I would prefer not to, however I would personally rather see those than porn, or half naked teenagers. As for the women who find it necessary to kill their unborn child, well like I said I am a protector of life so it would stand to reason that I am against abortion as well.

I believe in the circle of life and that every living thing is needed, otherwise God would not have placed it on earth, the animals are a vital part of our well being, as are the trees and plants, and if you don't believe that let God take away all plant life and we will see how long you can breathe.
I am and have always been an animal lover, and that will never change, God put us all here for different things, and there is one thing I know God does not make mistakes, we do! If we weren't meant to care for and protect animals and other parts of creation, then God would have never commanded Noah to save creation. You my friend are part of God's creation!

Genesis Ch 7 1 And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. 2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. 3 Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth. 4 For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth. 5 And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him.

The root of the problem with the cruelty ( abortion, human or animal cruelty) and what we are missing is this, Unconditional Love is almost non-existent today and the problem isn't that animals don't love unconditionally, it's humans! If we all loved unconditionally we wouldn't have a problem with cruelty and abortion, if God was in every thing we do, if he was in every home, then these things would not be so. Why don't we all set aside our petty differences, stop expecting everyone to be like you, pick up the bible, get on our knees and pray, put God back where he belongs, build a personal relationship with him, and then all these other things will go away?!?!?!

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Choices

Choices, we all have them but sometimes it's not our choices that cause us pain and complete life altering changes.

I spent the better part of the last 10 years feeling like my daddy's choice to commit suicide and leave his entire family here with questions that none of us can answer, questions like, Why?, Weren't we important at all?, What about your grandchildren and great-grandchildren?, was all my fault, what if I had been there more, What if I could have said the right thing.  Recently during some much needed alone time with God, when I asked him Why? Why did my daddy leave? Was it my fault? Could I have some how prevented this if I had been there more?  He responded with this, It's not your fault, sometimes it's not your own choices that affect you, and it's nothing that you yourself chose, but you just happened to be part of someone else choice.

Another example of this is as parents we are here to help guide our children, and we try to show them the best choices to make, sometimes we miss that altogether because being a parent does not mean that you are perfect and have all the right answers, but there comes a time when as a parent we have to let go and allow our children to make their own choices, whether good or bad, and sometimes it hurts to see the choices they make especially when we know they are headed for disaster.

We all have choices to make in life and whether we are on the giving or receiving end of that our choice most of the time don't just affect us.

The most important choice that Jesus gave us is whether or not to accept him as our Lord and Savior. And I know he is heart broken when we turn away from him and choose not to accept him. However he gave us a choice, and so he must allow us to choose no matter the pain it cost him.

My prayer is that if you don't know Jesus you choose him today, and allow him to be first in your life. If you are faced with choices and you aren't sure which way to go, Jesus and only Jesus knows the past, present, and future and knows what is best for all that are involved in the choice, allow him to have control of your life and listen to his direction.

Lyrics to Clear The Stage

"Clear The Stage"
Clear the stage and set the sound and lights ablaze
If that's the measure you must take to crush the idols
Jerk the pews & all the decorations, too
Until the congregations few, then have revival
Tell your friends that this is where the party ends
Until you're broken for your sins, you can't be social
Then seek the lord & wait for what he has in store
And know that great is your reward so just be hopeful

'cause you can sing all you want to
Yes, you can sing all you want to
You can sing all you want to
And still get it wrong; worship is more than a song

Take a break from all the plans that you have made
And sit at home alone and wait for god to whisper
Beg him please to open up his mouth and speak
And pray for real upon your knees until they blister
Shine the light on every corner of your life
Until the pride and lust and lies are in the open
Then read the word and put to test the things you've heard
Until your heart and soul are stirred and rocked and broken

'cause I can sing all I want to
Yes, I can sing all I want to
I can sing all I want to
And still get it wrong
And you can sing all you want to
Yes, you can, you can sing all you want to
You can sing all you want to
And still get it wrong; worship is more than a song
Worship is more than a song
Worship is more than a song

We must not worship something that's not even worth it
Clear the stage, make some space for the one who deserves it

Anything I put before my God is an idol
Anything I want with all my heart is an idol
And anything I can't stop thinking of is an idol
And anything that I give all my love is an idol

'cause I can sing all I want to
Yes, I can sing all I want to
I can sing all I want to
And still get it wrong
And you can sing all you want to
Yes, you can, you can sing all you want to
You can sing all you want to
And still get it wrong; worship is more than a song
Worship is more than a song
Worship is more than a song

Clear the stage and set the sound and lights ablaze
If that's the measure you must take to crush the idols

PASSING THE SUBJECT!

Do you ever feel like you are repeating the same thing over and over? I have felt that for several years, and it wasn't until recently through devotion to God and prayer time with him that I learned why.
When you are in school you have certain subjects and until you pass that subject you will not obtain your degree or diploma. It's your choice, either you want the degree enough to work hard and pass the test or you will give up.
The same thing is true with God, he gives us certain test and until we pass the test we will not be allowed to move on to the next (higher) level with him. Satan's job is to get you to throw in the towel and give up. You must learn to look to God for everything, you must hold on to your faith, continue in prayer time and building a personal relationship with God.
WARNING!!! The closer you get to completing the subject the harder each lesson becomes, the tighter you must hold on to God and the more devoted you must become!

My prayer for each person who read this is that you become aware of the subject you are taking, that you learn to be devoted to God, and that you hold on to him and complete the subject and grow to a higher level within the body of Christ.

Daily Devotion 02/16/14 Unity among brethren

1 Corinthians 1:10 KJV
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

The church must get back to a place of unity.

The Shoes

I have had God ask me to do a lot of things just for the purpose of obedience, but the story I am about to tell you is one that I will never forget. I was on my way home from town one day and I passed by this pair of shoes, each shoe wasn't too far away from the other. My first thought was just wow a pair of shoes in the road, but not to far down the road I found out they were far more than just a pair of shoes, because just a little bit further God spoke to me and said, " Go back and get the shoes." I said, " Really?, It's just an old pair of shoes." A little further again," God said, " Go back and get the shoes." As you can see I am really stubborn sometimes. I got to my drive way and very stern God says to me, " GO BACK AND GET THE SHOES!" at that point I said, "Ok I am going." When I got back to pick up the pair of shoes it was a pair of what I call Jesus Sandles, worn pretty good, and smelled like whoever was wearing them had just walked through a cow field. I picked them up, and I immediately said, " Ok God I have the shoes, now what am I suppose to do with them? , because I know there was a reason in me having them." He simply said, " Pray for the man wearing the shoes." So I went home with my pair of shoes, that's been about 6 months ago, there aren't many days that I don't think about the shoes and pray for the man wearing them. Today as a matter of fact I thought about them on my way home from work, and I know there is a reason I am sharing this with all of you. God had me kneel behind the podiem in church a couple of weeks ago and pray, and he told me to pray for the man that walks a thousand miles, but never leaves the place where he is standing.
Will I ever find out who was actually wearing the shoes? I have no idea, but I know that there is a reason why I still have the shoes, and a reason why I pray for the man wearing them.
So, when God tells you to do something and it sounds totally rediculous to you do it anyway. Be obedient to God, because there is a reason, even if it's only being obedient to him, that is enough.

I pray this makes its way to whom ever it is meant for.

Father right now I ask you to give the person that needed this message today strength, peace, and understanding to be obedient to you. I know that there is no other reward greater than serving you, the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. Father right now I ask for you to build a hedge of protection around this person, that the enemy not be allowed to hinder your work and will for their life any longer. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Faith and Trust

I recently pondered the thought, What is the difference between faith and trust? I looked at several scriptures concerning faith, I also read the Websters definition for both. This is what the Holy Spirit showed me. When we first come to Christ we have faith Hebrews 11:1 KJV says this: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Faith is believing in something not concrete, we haven't touched it but we know its there, as we walk with Jesus and build a personal relationship with him our faith grows and that is where we trust him. So, faith is the beginning of believing in Jesus, and trust is knowing that he will always come through.

Daily Devotion 02/12/14

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one. John 10: 28-30

Seek Him With All Your Heart

Jeremiah 29:13
(13)
And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

When we seek him with all our heart, laying aside all other things and searching for him alone, we will find him. When it seems like you are a million miles from God, all you have to do is go back to the place when you were, at his feet, and keep seeking until you hear from him. I have been in that place where it seemed like God was so far away, then is when I cried the loudest and in my tears is where I found him. Seek him with all your heart, thank him for all of his mercy and love, then is when you will find him.

David And Goliath

Most of us are familiar with the story of David and Goliath found in 1 Samuel 17. As I went back to read this something caught my attention, Saul told David he wasn't big enough to defeat this great giant, I mean really who would have thought he could, just looking at him, but David had a personal relationship with God Almighty and he trusted completely in him. People are sometimes quick to judge by appearance what someone is or is not capable of, we tend to look at how long they have been a Christian, or how close we think their walk with God is instead of knowing that God is the Almighty and he doesn't need our help or our opinions. We should be reaching out in love and support to our brothers and sisters in Christ, if they are going up against Goliath we should be in their corner cheering them on.

Daily Devotion 2/4/14

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Ephesians 6:13) Bible Verse of the Day http://bit.ly/BibleDailyApp

Sharing God's Love

Jesus said in John 3:16  that God so loved the WORLD that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everylasting life. It doesn't say that he so loved one country more than the other, or that he loved one color more, it doesn't say he loved one age group more, or that he loved one denomination more....it says that he loved the WORLD. Man made those boundaries not God, and man has no right to pick and choose. As Christians we should have burning desire to share God's love with everyone.

GET REAL!

LETS GET REAL!!!! People need to know that Christians are real people with real issues. I am not perfect, I break, I fall, I hurt, I cry, I say things wrong, I don't always stay on track, I have had a problem with commitment, I sometimes throw a pity party, I have been known to forget things, but I serve a real Jesus that changes my life little by little day by day, and so I call on his name each time I fall and he reaches his hand out and picks me up and I move on, it is only by his love and mercy that I have salvation, peace, and joy.

Daily Devotion 1/31/14

1Corinthians 13:1-7
(1) Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
(2) And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
(3) And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
(4) Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
(5) Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
(6) Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
(7) Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

I am sure most everyone is familiar with this scripture, but I wander how many of us have really sat down and absorbed all the message in this chapter. I know for myself it is hard to maintain the unconditional love talked about here. Sometimes we get caught up in how someone has hurt our feelings, or what they did to us that we thought was so unfair. The fact is that this doesn't ask what someone else has done to us, it gives specific instructions on how we should love one another. The only way to accomplish this is through a daily walk with Jesus, only through prayer and a one on one relationship with him can we even begin to love unconditionally. I know personally I have to call on Jesus many times through out the day for strength and guidance, I am learning to look to him continually. I would like to encourage you to build a closer relationship with Jesus and allow his love to shine through you each and every day.

Daily Devotion 1/30/14

Matthew 6:33-34
(33) But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
(34) Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Daily Devotion 1/29/14

Luke 6:41-42
(41) And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
(42) Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.
